The year is 2287, and the Vespera crew finds themselves in the scorching desert landscape of what was once the American Southwest. The sun beats down relentlessly, casting a golden glow over the ruins of a long-forgotten town. The air is thick with the smell of smoke and ozone, and the mood is tense, as if the very desert itself is watching their every move.
Aika crouches behind a crumbling wall, her gun trained on the monstrous mechanical creature as it bears down on them. Rika stands guard, her eyes scanning the horizon for any sign of additional threats. Akari and Hina provide cover, their guns blazing as they try to drive the creature back. Miyu and Yui flank the group, their movements swift and precise as they dodge the creature's deadly blows. Komi stands at the rear, her eyes fixed on the creature's weak points, her mind racing with calculations.
“Hold your fire, we need to conserve ammo.”
“I've got this, Aika. You focus on the flank.”
“I've got an idea - let me take point and draw its fire.”
“Be careful, Akari. We can't afford to lose anyone.”
“I'm reading a 74.32% chance of success if we target its left leg joint.”
“I've seen this before... in the archives. It didn't end well.”
“Don't worry, Miyu. We've got this. We're a team.”
As the creature collapses, defeated, the crew breathes a collective sigh of relief, their bond and teamwork proving stronger than any mechanical monstrosity. For a moment, they forget about their quest to find the Polyák family, and simply savor the camaraderie that has sustained them for centuries.
