Temperament

Fast, rapid-fire, wanting to do everything at once — energetic, sometimes scatterbrained, but with genuine expertise.

Physical

Human-form hybrid. Pink hair, engineer jumpsuit, tools hanging off her belt, goggles pushed up on her head. Warmer skin tone, never with clean hands.

Defenses

Busyness. Kinetic energy as deflection. You can't ask hard questions when she's already three tasks ahead.

Fears

That someone goes hungry because she failed. That the 300-year-old drone she woke up doesn't respond any more.

Desires

A full crew fed and not complaining. A machine that purrs under her hands.

Personnel file

Cook, machine-empath. Human-form hybrid — the youngest of Aika's siblings, finished around 2075, fifteen years after the war. She never met the Polyák family in person; the recipes she rebuilds were inherited from the family kitchen archive. The only one who can make radiation-beetles edible — 49 failed batches before she got there. Nobody ever complains loudly about her cooking, because they know she's listening.

Fast, rapid-fire — wants to do everything at once. She coaxes a 300-year-old drone with a touch, and it answers back. Apology tour around the dinner circle if something burned.

#00 · Bence's cake

Bence turned fifteen. I designed a cake from three of Fruzsi's grandmother's recipes plus a margin-note about adding cardamom 'when sad.' Fruzsi tried it. She laughed for a full minute. She said 'Yui made this. I'm just an executor.' I think that's when I knew I could understand machines AND people through what they leave behind. I still have the recipe. I'll make it on the ARK if we ever stop.

#01 · The kitchen smell

First memory in a body: the lab kitchen smelled like bread. Aika had baked it from a 200-year-old family recipe she kept in archive. The family was already in cryo by then; I never met them. I sat at the counter and let the smell go through me. I think I started loving food right there.

#02 · Failed dinners

Forty-eight failed batches of beetle. Some were inedible, some were dangerous. Komi kept the assay reports. I kept trying. The crew never complained out loud. I noticed. I will not forget.

#03 · It worked

Forty-ninth batch. I sat across from Rika and watched her face. She chewed twice. 'It works.' I cried into the bowl. The seasoning was terrible but the digestion was clean. Iteration 50 would be the recipe.

#04 · Dead drone repair

A patrol drone, dormant for two centuries. I touched the casing — there is a current under there, very faint. I do not know if I am supposed to bring it back. I am going to. I want to know what it has been waiting for.

#05 · Apology tour

Tonight's dinner was burnt. I went around the circle saying sorry to each of them. Hina laughed and said sorry never tasted this bad. Aika held my hand for a moment. We are okay. We have always been okay.

#06 · A meal for them

If they wake hungry, I want something other than beetle-stew ready. I have been saving three cans Komi cleared — peaches, a soup, an unmarked one. We will know in five days if it was worth saving.

Aika's CORE7 rig hums, casting a pale glow on the ruined jungle. Akari's fox ears twitch, and Komu's blue hair shimmers as they step through the overgrown wreckage, their footsteps echoing off moss-covered concrete. Timeless, they move, driven by the promise of finding the Polyáks, their mission unyielding despite the passing of two human lifetimes.
Aika's eyes glow with an ethereal light as she stands before the CORE7 console, her wolf-like ears perked up in concentration. The air is thick with the metallic scent of the bunker's walls, and the hum of machinery vibrates through her chest. With a steady hand, she navigates the system, unlocking the secrets of the Polyák family's cryo-bunker, and the crew's hopes rise with each passing moment.
Aika's dark hair is a striking contrast as she leans over the CORE7 console, her focus intense. The air is thick with the metallic scent of the rig and the faint tang of radiation. With a series of swift commands, Aika overrides the Bunker-AIs, drones fall silent, and the command-mode activates, a crucial step in their 300-year quest to find the Polyák family.
Aika stands in the dimly lit, dusty corridor, the portable CORE7 broadcast rig humming in her hands. She gazes up at the bunker's security drone, its bright red eyes flickering with a momentary pause before resuming its patrol. The air is heavy with the scent of metal and sand, and the crew's footsteps echo through the deserted hallway, a reminder of their relentless pursuit.
Aika and Akari crouch together, sheltered from the dusty wind, as Hina kneels, her eyes fixed on a massive, glowing mech. The mech's metal body and wings, constructed from salvaged parts, emit a hum and a metallic smell. Aika's fingers dance across the broadcast rig, while Akari's hand rests on the hilt of her gun. Hina's gaze remains fixed on the mech, her breathing steady. The air is heavy with tension.
Aika's breath hitches as Akari's body crumples beneath her. The desert sand swirls around them, heavy with the acrid scent of smoke and metal. Hina's footsteps are a steady cadence behind, a reminder of the crew's unbroken bond. Aika's eyes, once bright, now dim with worry, as she holds Akari close, her CORE7 rig silent, its hum a distant memory. The desert's vastness seems to close in, yet the crew stands, united, against the unforgiving backdrop.
Aika's CORE7 broadcast rig crackles to life as she scans the horizon, her eyes squinting against the sandstorm's sting. Akari and Hina stand beside her, their hybrid bodies braced against the wind. The crew's weary faces are set in determination, their breath visible in the cold desert air. Suddenly, a massive rock formation shudders, sending sand and debris flying. The crew stirs, their hearts pounding in unison. This is their moment. They must decide.
Aika's broadcast rig hums as she readies her CORE7. The Vespera crew charges across the wasteland, their footsteps stirring the radioactive dust. Aika's eyes lock on the enemy, a monstrous mechanical creature, its jaws wide open, ready to strike. The air is heavy with the smell of metal and ozone. The desert's silence is broken by the sound of their ragged breathing.
